Sammi in Italy!!! (Part 3)

March 9, 2011--Don't faint, but I am actually working on this right after posting parts 1 & 2!

After the pizza party we spent a few more days hanging around Belforte.

Sammi being silly in Sestino (Tuscany)

As we left Toscana (Tuscany) and entered the Marche. This sign is about 3 km from Belforte!

Larry and Sammi leaving on a hike to Sasso Simone! Now tell me, who is dressed for hiking??

Sammi with Sasso Simone in the far distance. There and back took about 8 hours!

Where is Uncle Larry?

Now we are off to Venezia!!

Sammi in the Piazza di San Marco.

Standing on a small pedestrian crossing bridge.

Believe it or not, we had to look around to find a gondolier who was wearing his hat!

Sammi loved stopping to shop!

Sammi with the Grand Canal behind her.

After returning from Venice we took Sammi and Larry to La Grotta dei Folletti for a tremendous meal of nothing but antipasti. She willingly tried everything--including this bowl of tripe!

I, on the other hand, only enjoyed the bread and the dessert!

The next day Larry and Sammi headed off to San Leo. I just couldn't face another trip since we would be leaving for Orvieto and then back to the states the next day.

The fortress and/or castle of San Leo.

Larry and Sammi enjoying lunch.

Nothing quite like using a turkish toilet!

Our last days with Sammi were spent in Orvieto and Civita di Bagnoregio--two of many great hill towns in Italy.

Here is Sammi knocking on a "little" door!

The beautiful town of Civita where we found the best ever bruschetta!

Sammi and I caught the train in Orvieto to go to Rome early Thursday morning. We went straight to the airport to start the log flight home.

Thanks for taking this journey with us!
