Spring Has Sprung!

March 21, 2007 It seems as if winter had decided to skip this part of Italy and just slide from fall into spring. Much to the dismay of the locals, there has been little rain, no snow and mild temperatures. To me, it has been wonderful! Last week we sat on our porch or in our garden and actually got a nice tan! Here are some shots of spring that were taken during the last part of February and the first weeks of March.

Daffodils grow in yards or all around the hillsides.

We're not sure what kind of tree it is, but couldn't resist seeing our house through the branches!

This was one of the first trees we saw with blossoms on it.

And here's another!

And here an "ape" (ah pay) is hard at work!

A beautiful wild flower.

This is what we woke up to this morning--the day after the first day of spring!**

It is now after 9:30 and still snowing. Larry just left on his walk! Call me crazy, but that just seems nuts! Maybe we should call him crazy! Hopefully, he will be able to get some great pics of the snow!!!

While I was still struggling with this blog Larry came back. Here are a few of those great pics that he got!

Those were taken along the route that Larry (and sometimes me) walks everyday!

The pic on the left is the vineyard of the old man who shared grapes with us and in the other one you can see our apartment with our new old house right behind it with snow capped mountains in the distance!

**According to one calendar, spring started yesterday and to another it starts today! I checked online and most sites said spring started in the states yesterday and in Europe today! Go figure.
